SCH has achieved another notable first in the port of Liverpool by handling its first passenger turnaround call in the port of Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2.

Some 300 passengers joined other passengers already on board the ship as the 76,000 tonnes liner sailed from Liverpool, where SCH has the contract to handle cruise ship calls at the Liverpool Cruise Terminal.

SCH  provided support in mooring the vessel and stores provision besides baggage handling for the passengers joining the ship.

Other notable maiden callers in Liverpool that have been supported by SCH this summer include  Oceania Cruises’ Oceania, Norwegian Caribbean Lines’ Norwegian Spirit and TUI’s Mein Schiff 5, while the latest new visitor was Saga Cruises’ recently named  vessel Spirit of Discovery.

SCH Director Kevin Hulme explained: “It is an exciting season for the growing cruise ship business in Liverpool and our teams have been busy providing a range of services from baggage handling and mooring through to valet car parking through our specialist Cruise and Passenger Services company.”
