Azamara Cruises luxury mid-sized vessel  Azamara Journey has become  the latest addition to SCH’s fleet of cruise ships handled after the ship made her maiden call in Southampton.

The 30,000 tonnes vessel arrived in the port from the Channel islands with over 600 guests before a similar number embarked for a 12-night Baltic capitals cruise.

SCH managed and handled the full turnaround of Azamara Journey at the City Cruise terminal, with the programme also including mooring and letting go, plus the loading of several tonnes of stores.

Azamara Journey will make a further call in Southampton as part of her European season later in August when SCH will again be responsible for a full turnaround.

Cruise Manager Paulo Oliveira explained: “Turning round Azamara Journey for the first time provided us with further experience in handling the Azamara fleet. As medium-sized ships with a niche position in the cruise market, they require a specific approach and we utilise our cruise ship experience to ensure Azamara passengers receive the premier service that they expect.”
